Melissa Oneil

  

Melissa Crystal O'Neil, born on July 12, 1988 is a Canadian singer and actress. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to take home Canadian Idol's third season, which aired in the year 2005. She is best known for her roles in Syfy as Two / Rebeccaas Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin on the science fiction series Dark Matter, and on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama series The Rookie.



 



 Early life



 O'Neil was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. [citation needed] Her mother, who is a Hong Kong Chinese woman, is her father, who is Irish.



 



 O'Neil was a Terry Fox Junior High School student. O'Neil went to Lester B. Pearson High School, Calgary. There she took part in musicals and played rugby. She also played on the basketball team.
